Simple ways to download a game to your PSP using your PC

Posted in: Guides, Tips and Tricks

Downloading games from your IPSP to your PSP using your PC is simple and easy to do. There are some simple things to remember and must be done before transferring any of your game to your Memory Stick.

You’ll need the following items to accomplish this task:

Follow this simple steps to start saving game to your Memory Stick using your PC:

1. Connect your Memory Stick Duo to a computer using one of the following methods:

  • Insert it into the Memory stick slot on the computer or use a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor
  • Connect a Memory stick reader/writer with a USB cable
  • Connect your PSP with the Memory Stick Duo inserted with a USB cable

You can plug the Mini-B side of the USB cable into the top of your PSP system or you can also plug the Standard-A side of the USB cable into your computer.

2. If you connected the Memory Stick Duo with a USB connection, you must activate the connection on the PSP by

  • Selecting USB icon(USB) under the Settings in the Home Menu.
  • Press X
  • 3. Your computer will indicate that it detects the Memory Stick Duo. Take note that your computer might recognize the Memory Stick as a “Removable Disk Drive” or “Removable Storage”

    4. Browse to the Memory Stick Duo on your computer.

    5. Different files must be saved in different specific folders using the appropriate names to be viewed on the PSP.

    6. For your downloaded game, the game will most likely be stored in the game folder. Normally, it is as easy as dragging your downloaded game into the correct folder. Don’t worry if you accidentally put any files in the wrong folder. Those files won’t just get recognize by PSP and won’t crash your PSP. Also before copying your IPSP game into your PSP make sure you have enough space in your Memory Stick.

    7. After your game have been transferred successfully, you can now disconnect the USB cable from your computer and PSP.

When picking a PSP network service, I recommend using IPSP, its fast, reliable and easy to use.
